The Faculty of Geography, Spiru Haret University hosted Green Amphitheater

Studenti SpiruOn 2nd of March, 2015, Greentourism* Ecological Association in partnership with Spiru Haret University organized a debate with students of the Faculty of Geography on the mountain tourism and the need to promote a new type of tourism, sustainable, responsible, sustainable (in a word, green) in the framework of climate change and sustainable rural development.

As usual, the “Green Amphitheater” event was moderated by Mr. Serban Constantin, president of Greentourism* Ecological Association, founder of greentourism concept in Romania, who informed students about the aims and objectives of the Strategy for Sustainable Tourism Development in the Carpathians. He also talked about Greentourism association involvement in developing the Strategy which is now in the implementation phase, after being adopted in Romania by Law 72/2014.

1st and 3rd year students actively participated, showing interest and openness for the promotion of tourism activities that do not cause irreversible damage to the environment and expressed their opinion about the state of tourism in Romania.

Students have also expressed the desire to get involved as volunteers in the association’s activities.

“Green Amphitheatre” will move to other faculties of the Spiru Haret University and the next will be the Faculty of Marketing and International Business at a date to be communicated later, also in the university newspaper.
