Green CC-COP5-Meeting of the Conference of Parties to the Carpathian Convention

From 10 to 12 October 2017, we are Observer in the Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol on Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biological and Landscape Diversity, the Protocol on Sustainable Forest Management and the Protocol on Sustainable Tourism, in the Framework Convention on the Protection and Sustainable Development of the Carpathians.

The CC/COP5/ 5th Meeting of the Conference of Parties to the Carpathian Convention is taking place in Palota Hotel Confrence Hall, in Lillafüred, Hungary.

Our association  have Observer statute in the Carpathian Convention from many years. In this meeting and in the odthers meetings we bring a green-eco contribution. We will observe the Status of contributions, Status of ratification of Biodiversity Protocol, Forest Protocol, Tourism Protocol, Transport Protocol, the Implementation of the Carpathian Convention – Presentation of the activities, scientific inputs and draft decisions for COP5:

Inputs by S4C – Science for the Carpathians – Presentation of the Carpathian Sustainable Tourism Platform activities related to the implementation of the Tourism Protocol  – Presentation of the project – Support to the Elaboration and Implementation of the Tourism Protocol and the Strategy for Sustainable Tourism Development in the Carpathians (Mr. Michael Meyer, ETE) – Presentation of a Common set of indicators measuring the positive and negative impacts caused by tourism in the Carpathians  – Presentation of the Carpathia Brand – Presentation of the V4 Found project – CARPATHIAN TOURISM – Presentation of a project idea The Great Carpathians” Europe´s longest Mountain bike -Trail Tour for Cyclists.

In “Discussion on future priority” we make the proposition to the secretariat to include in the anual calendar of the CC the “Green tourism week, a green week in tourism, 2nd edition 2018” betwin WorldTourismDay and WorldEducationDay, based on 1st edition Romanian experience with youth students in Bucharest ended feew days ago friday 06.10.2017. 7. Cultural Heritage and Traditional Knowledge

Inputs by S4C – Science for the Carpathians  – Presentation of the paper World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism in the Carpathians and discussion on the future priorities.

Our contribution in this section is the Vallachian  traditional man clothes in Romanian Carpathians presented by our representat here, Constantin Serban, dressed in the Wallachian Traditional Clothes stile costume, the traditional Carpathian fashion.

8. Sustainable Transport – Protocol on Sustainable Transport and related activities, presentation of the TRANSGREEN project and discussion – Formal reading of the COP5 Decisions

Education for Sustainable Development in the Carpathians and discussion – Presentation of a seminar on environmental and sustainable development education and awareness raising in kindergartens and schools.
