Green Hour for Mountain Day
As of 2003, it has been observed every year to create awareness about the importance of mountains to life, to highlight the opportunities and constraints in mountain development and to build alliances that will bring positive change to mountain peoples and environments around the world.
The United Nations General Assembly designated 11 December “International Mountain Day”. Promoting mountain products is the theme chosen for this year’s celebration of International Mountain Day.
Globalization offers opportunities for mountain producers to market their high quality mountain products and handicrafts at the national, regional and international levels. Though mountain agriculture cannot compete with the prices and volumes of lowland production, it can concentrate on high value, high quality products to boost local economies. This year GreenAmphitheatre of Green tourism ecologic association was host by Bucharest Faculty of Horticulture of USMV University.
Debating with the students of Bucharest Faculty of Horticulture in Green hour of mountains day, the International Mountain Day 2015 provides an occasion to find how mountain communities are protecting biodiversity by producing mountain horticulture products and goods and services related with horticulture, lansscaping and arboriculture.
Debating was started after an exciting lecture on Climate change, the role of Green psychology of consumming behavior change and Sustainable development of society. This Green hour, of muntains, was facilited by Constantin Serban licensed of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of “Petre Andrei” University, Iasi 2013, and now is 2nd year student of “Clinic Psychology and Psychologic Intervention” masters degres organized by Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of “Spiru Haret” University Bucharest. From 2010, Constantin is developer of Green Psychology or Ecopsychology in Romania pioneering field of psychology, which has focused on research and undergraduate studies included in the work of the faculty supported graduating.
It is also founder of Green Amphitheatre and Green tourism concept in Romania. Sustainable tourism – green tourism like nature&cultural heritages trails that allow visitors to discover and love the unique biodiversity are also some of the offerings provided by mountains and mountain communities. If green managed, tourism can provide an opportunity for sustainable development in mountain regions and Horticulture is an important area for mountain food producing and also greening mountains.
