Next steps for sustainable tourism development in Carpathian region

On 24 – 26 November 2014 we were prezent in Belgrade, Serbia, at the 6th Meeting of the Carpathian Convention Working Group on Sustainable Tourism.


The main goal of the meeting was the discussion about future implementation of the Strategy for the Sustainable Tourism Development of the Carpathians, which was adopted at the last Meeting of the Conference of the Parties, held in Mikulov, Czech Republic on 23 – 26 September 2014.


In the context of common tourism products approach and of an optimistic view about the future, we took the opportunity to present the Vallachian Vatra Project initiated by our association, a project fully alligned with Carpathian Sustainable Tourism Strategy objectives, meant to value and promote the common vallachian culture heritage.


The Romanian Tourism Authority representative was also present at the meeting, assuring about Romania committment for the right implementation of the Carpathian Sustainable Tourism Strategy and fully supporting our project Vallachian Vatra as a model of low impact tourism with benefits for local people in the Carpathians.

The next meeting will be held in Germany, the country that supports the Carpathian Convention Project for sustainable development of the Carpathian region.
